About the team
The core team at BonsaiX has worked on various digital products in the past in both startups, large corporations and agencies, always focusing on a collaborative effort between product, design and dev teams. We are scaling BonsaiX with this mindset at the core of how we work day to day. If you like shaping the direction a product should take, this is the place for you!
Full-stack engineer
Join us to build solutions that make a difference to how businesses store and circulate information. It's a fast paced environment (we know, everyone says that..) with a growing userbase to tend to and we are looking for a full-stack engineer to help us take things to the next level as the fifth member of our dev team.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Familiar with Ruby / Rails in general.
- JSON API or REST API development.
- Familiar with PostgreSQL, if you worked with MySQL, that's OK too
- Experience with TDD
- You're not flustered if you need to deploy code to production, using webhooks, actions and CI/CD pipelines.
SOFT(ER) REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience
- You've done frontend development with React, or with some other major framework.
- You're comfortable working with GitHub (or other GIT based) version management
- Conversational level English
- Experience with agile / scrum
NICE TO HAVE
- You have worked with databases and data modeling. You're familiar with JSON APIs and can work with RESTful API requests
- Beyond development, you have some experience in operations You're familiar with server side topics
- You've managed and set up build tools before
- You've mentored other developers on your previous teams
- You have some exposure to Docker and containerized apps
- Experience with WYSIWYG editor development

Product designer (UX/UI) - medior level
We are looking for an enthusiastic Medior Product Designert (UX/UI) to join our team. BonsaiX is a 2-year-old startup with plenty of customer feedback to incorporate into our new designs. As a designer, you have a direct impact on making the user experience of our knowledge management and team collaboration tool even better, with the freedom to work on both existing features and conceptualizing new functionalities from scratch. On top of this, you would also work with the current design team on optimizing our website and landing pages as well as adding magic dust to sales decks. In true startup fashion: never a dull moment but a dedicated team to get stuff done with.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Solid UX skills - you should be able to quickly sketch out solutions to business problems to discuss with the other designers and the broader product team
- Rely on your UI skills to deliver ready-to-build designs on time for sprints
- Proficiency in using Figma, which is our standard design tool
SOFT(ER) REQUIREMENTS
- Be comfortable working with design systems and contribute to maintaining ours
- Conversational level English - our team is international with most work getting done in English
NICE TO HAVE
- Past product design experience is more than welcome
